Hopeful Gospel. Hopeful Faith.
About Us
Our particular shared tradition is that of Christian faith. As we aim to express Hopeful Theology we consider how fearful Christian theology has contributed to many problems in the world. We think that good news is good when it is so for everyone, even for those who don’t believe or believe differently.
We exist to articulate hopeful Christian faith in the church and in the world. This hopeful gospel makes a difference here and now, and we aim to identify and demonstrate what that difference can look like.
It is the future that determines the present. Hopeful Christian theology offers a realization that it is the future of Jesus Christ that most determines our present and our future. Thus, the Christian can be the “most hopeful person in the room”. The future is not about separation, as many religious interpretations of heaven and hell or salvation are. Our idea of the future is the renewal of all things in Christ.
Our name, Reflector Project, comes from the theological concept that Jesus is the fullness of God’s love and light. We can see such light reflected in all people and we are all invited to reflect such love and light.
As we reflect this light we work to move beyond expressions of Christian faith that have become polarizing and divisive. We are open and affirming on matters of gender and sexuality.
We aim to articulate a faith that is hopeful, positive, and good news for people who believe it and for people who do not.
